MIG Real Estate, LLC ( MIG ), is a family office real estate firm which owns and manages approximately $2.5 billion of office, retail, industrial, hotel and multifamily assets throughout the United States, predominantly in the western and sunbelt states. Recently, MIG allocated over a $100 million to a Qualified Opportunity Fund and commenced acquisitions and development of multifamily and commercial real estate in Qualified Opportunity Zones. The company has also committed significant capital to new market rate development. MIG has recently hired top development and construction executives to head up this new division and look at redevelopment of existing assets to further enhance returns to investors. MIG is looking to add a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance, MIS and accounting teams in developing state of the art financial models, economic tools, tax strategies and reporting regimens to keep MIG in the forefront of real estate owners and operators and integrate this new development division.

 

As a key member of the executive management team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, debt, MIS, forecasting, strategic planning, tax matters, investor relations, and equity financing.

 

The Chief Financial Officer primary responsibilities will be:

 

  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company and evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning (i.e., growth, markets, strategies, and investments).
  • Lead strategy and execution across all financial functions including accounting, finance, treasury, tax and strategic planning.
  • Implement processes, frameworks and systems that allow MIG to capture and utilize timely and accurate data across the business to make better decisions as we grow the development and construction divisions.
  • Leadership for all financial planning & analysis, including ownership of annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, KPI/dashboard management and operational analytics processes that inform the CEO and senior management on company performance in real time.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners that support the finance, debt, acquisitions and development infrastructure.
  • Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, projecting acquisition and expansion prospects, analyzing organizational operations and identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancements as well as strategic deployment of capital to fund further investments.

 

  • Build MIS, AI and data analytics infrastructure while assessing emerging technologies and promoting the use of new technology systems and processes to streamline business functions and reporting.
  • Cash flow optimization, through cash forecasting, working capital management and investment analysis.
  • Execute a timely monthly close of all financial reporting and publish regular flash reports internally and externally to key stakeholders.
  • Administer banking arrangements, loan agreements, covenant compliance and maintain adequate sources of capital for the company s current borrowings from commercial banks and other lending institutions.
  • Establish and maintain all finance and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams.
  • Partner with the other senior executives across the company to continue developing our forward-looking company strategy and building a culture of strong ethical standards, cohesion, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Partner with the CEO on financing strategy, board communications, and corporate development utilizing existing relationships and building new ones across the real estate finance community.
  • Partner with all members of the senior management team and other company leadership on short, medium- and long-term business strategy.

 

Qualifications

  • Reputation as a highly ethical, strategic, innovative and disciplined financial/business leader.
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance, CPA and MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record as a CFO/VP of finance working with a successful private equity or real estate development firm with a broad base of multiple asset classes including multi-family, industrial, office, and retail; hotel experience beneficial.
  • Minimum 20 years of business experience, with at least 10 years as a senior financial leader within a medium-sized company with track record of effective leadership achieving significant investor returns.
  • Experience with real estate asset management and development desirable.
  • Demonstrated talent for developing and successfully achieving strategic plan for dynamic growth.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting, and tax related matters.
  • Known for attracting, mentoring and retaining financial and operational talent.
  • Reputation for working exceptional well at all levels of organization.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
