Position Overview:
The Associate will be based in San Francisco and will play a critical role in underwriting and executing new investment opportunities, as well as asset managing existing investments. The Associate will be staffed on multiple transactions across a variety of discretionary mandates at any one time. The Associate will be involved with sourcing, structuring, diligencing, negotiating, financing and executing transactions across property types and regions, and will regularly attend both external and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Quantitative Analysis:
- Developing complex financial models in Excel and Argus, including valuation analyses
- Preparing annual re-forecasts of existing investments
Market and Property Research:
- Compiling and summarizing market research reports and data
- Assembling and evaluating sales and rent comparables
- Analyzing property operations
- Creating actionable investment theses
Presentation and Document Writing:
- Preparing investment committee memoranda and presenting to the global IC
- Preparing and reviewing transaction documents, working directly with internal and external counsel
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in an investment / financial role in real estate
- Exceptional financial modeling, business writing, and inter-personal skills
- Superior academic achievement with detail-orientation
- Strong work ethic and personal integrity
