Responsibilities

As an Associate with Hines, you will assist senior management with all aspects of real estate investment and development projects. The Associate will receive a broad-based exposure to the full spectrum of real estate investment and development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop financial models and play an essential role in financial analysis and underwriting of new investment opportunities.
  • Assist Managing Director and Senior Managing Director in interfacing with institutional investors and lenders in an effort to finance projects sourced by the Hines regional/country teams.
  • Perform market surveys and analyses using internal databases and web-based software to document trends, and support new business development opportunities.
  • Assist the regional/country teams with preparation of materials for presenting deals to the Hines internal investment committee.
  • Support the region/country team in negotiation and closing of acquisitions, financings and dispositions.
  • Monitor portfolio projects' progress and performance throughout the investment cycle and provide financial analysis and market research to support key decisions.
  • Monitor and perform analysis of fund level investment performance.
  • Perform analysis and assist senior management in structuring new funds or new deals sourced by the region/country team.
  • Prepare investment reports to investors as required.
  • Assist in the legal documentation of joint ventures, loan documents and purchase and sell agreements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; MBA strongly preferred
  • Three or more years related experience in real estate or in a financial analysis role
  • Argus knowledge preferred
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule
  • Ability to analyze real estate from a strategic point of view
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
