Analyst/Underwriter – Healthcare & Senior Living Group
Basic Function:
Underwriter will provide extraordinary service to external lenders, investors, clients by producing detailed, orderly presentations of data, facts, and figures, but also potentially handle a book of business independently.
Main Responsibilities:
· Interact with clients, prospective buyers, equity partners, and investors in all stages of transactions, including RFPs, underwriting, packaging, marketing, and closings
· Perform underwriting and assist leadership in placing debt secured by healthcare and senior living properties (skilled nursing, assisted/independent living, etc.) by underwriting facilities and summarizing financing opportunities into comprehensive offering memorandums
· Prepare/create financial cash flow models in excel and review and analyst legal documents and third party reports as part of the due diligence process
· Evaluate loan requests and analyze financial data on transactions that span across the capital structure and support the strategy and marketing of financing transactions
· Maintain contact with loan customer, communicating progress of loan and obtaining any required documentation
· Collaborate closely with lenders during the deal shopping, bidding, and due diligence periods while negotiating the best terms on behalf of the client, while fostered and maintaining strong lender relationships
· Prepare files for underwriting, loan committee, private mortgage insurance company and investor including preparation of loan approval sheet
· Establish detailed marketing/business plans including names of potential and existing loan customers realtors, builders, developers, etc and frequency of contact
· Work closely with and hold confidential discussions with lenders/borrowers and provide service to clients in consulting on various loan products and qualification information
· Building and foster relationships with potential and/or existing clients as established in plan to develop new business or retain existing business, as well as promote and market loan products
· Prepare market analysis reports, including vacancy, absorption, and comparable rents and sales
· Participate in networking through professional, business an community organizations and activities
Requirements
· 1-3 years of experience in a financial analysis environment in the mortgage or commercial real estate industry (Healthcare Real Estate Industry Experience is favored)
· Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing and communication skills; able to interface with top level executives
· Superior technical skills with an advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
· Self-motivated, team-oriented and strong time management skills to prioritize deadlines
· Must have deal side experience and have worked on structuring deals
· Exceptional research, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
