Real Estate Investment Analyst (Intern – Spring 2021) - Annapolis, MD

Thomas Park Investments (TPI), an Annapolis-based private equity real estate firm, is seeking qualified candidates for a Real Estate Investment Analyst Intern position beginning in the Spring of 2021.

TPI targets the acquisition of medical office real estate in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets of the U.S. from Richmond to Boston. We are a small, flexible team of real estate professionals with “in-house” capabilities that include acquisitions, development, asset management, leasing, and property management. We currently own and manage 250,000+ square feet of office space on the east coast and are adding 225,000 SF annually to our platform

We pride ourselves on being a flexible organization with a flat hierarchy structure. The Real Estate Investment intern would get exposure working with each of our team members across all platforms, providing exposure to disciplines that include, but are not limited to: asset management, leasing, acquisitions, development, debt and equity, property management, investor relations and more. Upon completion of the internship, there may be immediate or future opportunities for full-time employment with our firm where specialization would be prioritized based on the individual’s strengths and desired career path.

Opportunities to…

  • Support the CIO and Associate in analyzing new acquisition opportunities.
  • Conduct market research (sale comps, rent comps, micro and macro trends, etc.).
  • Prepare underwriting materials including excel models and investment memorandums.
  • Travel to investment markets (when possible) to see assets and meet stakeholders.
  • Improve the integrity and quality of data in our acquisitions database (Monday.com).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and positive work-ethic.
  • Have the ability to focus on a single task all the way to completion before moving on, balancing time and quality appropriately.
  • Be comfortable working on a small team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
    • Experience with Canva, Yardi, Argus, and/or Rockport Val a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with significant experience or coursework in finance or real estate.
  • Previous experience in real estate investment or development a plus.
