SVP Information Technology

 

 

 

Established in 1976, Bell Partners Inc. (Bell Partners) is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment and management company focusing on high-quality multifamily communities throughout the United States.  Bell Partners has nearly 50,000 units under management and is one of the largest apartment renovators in the industry.  With over 1,250 associates and 8 offices (including its headquarters in Greensboro, NC) Bell Partners offers an extensive, full service operating platform containing expertise in acquisitions and dispositions, financing, property operations, construction, accounting, risk management, market research and other related support functions.

 

The SVP Information Technology is an integral part of the leadership team overseeing the IT/BI organization.  This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and may be based in either Greensboro or Raleigh, North Carolina.

                          

Purpose of the Job

 

Direct and manage all information technology and BI strategic plans, policies, programs, resources and schedules for business and finance data processing, computer services, network communications, telecommunications and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Develop strategic plans and implement the IT/BI needs of the company to ensure technology capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and objectives.
  • Partner closely with both front office and back office business leaders in the definition and implementation of technology-based process improvement efforts (innovation).
  • Direct and ensure the protection of sensitive and confidential data across all corporate data sources to include those on-premise as well as in the public\private cloud.
  • Develop and establish corporate operating policies and approaches for information technology
  • Evaluate overall operations of information technology functions and recommend enhancements;
  • Direct and monitor the attainment of a set of yearly IT/BI departmental goals
  • Direct and maintain a formal Service Level Agreement (SLA) with key business units where service standards are established, measured and reported.
  • Create and direct an IT/BI Steering Committee.
  • Ensure that all teams within the Information Technology department are properly resourced, measured and held accountable to expected service standards as well as project execution.
  •  Advise executive management on strategic systems, data conversions and systems integrations in support of business goals and objective
  • Prepare annual IT financial and BI plans to ensure compliance with the annual budget for the Information Technology function for both expenses and ongoing capital needs
  • Interact with company managers on internal and external operations that are impacted by information technology
  • In partnership with Purchasing, review, negotiate and approve major contracts for information technology services and equipment
  • Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all IT back-up procedures and plans. Assists with the organization plans and procedures related to disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Identify and assess emerging information technologies that may be introduced to the organization
  • Establish company infrastructure to assist, support and guide individual divisions /departments/ properties in computing and information technology efforts
  • Ensure the efficient and accurate execution of all Bell Partners property transitions (acquisitions, dispositions and lease ups).
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources, as appropriate
  • Act as direct IT and BI liaison to Executive Management for ongoing support needs.

Education and Background

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • MBA or other graduate-level degree highly preferred
  • At least 10 years IT/BI management experience in a medium or large size company
  • Industry experience that supports IT/BI best practices
  • Real Estate experience preferred - a plus
  • Previous project management or business development experience a plus
