Description


MIG Real Estate (“MIG”) is a private real estate investment firm that specializes in making direct acquisitions in office, hotel, retail, industrial and multi-family properties located in the Western U.S. and Sunbelt states. MIG is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve in the role of Asset Management Analyst or Associate. This individual will support the Company’s multi-family portfolio with financial review, asset management, project management, new initiatives, real estate acquisition, and underwriting.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  • Asset Management Analysis / Reporting
    • Collaborating with both internal and external teams: Marketing, Revenue Management, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations, and Construction Management to formulate and execute strategies to maximize portfolio value through knowledge of real estate markets and multi-family operations
    • Assisting in optimizing property performance through reviewing financial reports, formulating, and executing short-term and long-term asset management strategies, regular site visits to engage with on-site staff and regional property managers, and monitoring performance via a host of available analytical tools
    • Providing summations of financial reporting related to property performance, budgets, variances, benchmarking, and underwriting
    • Participate in evaluating and implementing various new products and services (e.g., marketing and ancillary resident services) to the overall portfolio
  • Market Research
    • Track market trends using a variety of demographic, financial, real estate, and economic data
    • Proactively scrub data to ensure highest degree of accuracy and integrate into market analysis
    • Assisting in feasibility analyses of current markets and target markets
  • Forecasting / Budgeting
    • Assist in yearly budgeting process for the multi-family portfolio
    • Support re-forecasting of the multifamily portfolio for performance expectations and cash flows projections for all assets
  • Acquisitions / Underwriting
    • Aiding in analyses for Acquisitions, Underwriting, and Asset Management teams concerning new acquisitions, debt financing, sale of properties, and capital expenditures
    • Provide support in completing internal underwriting templates and investment committee memos

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES:

  • At least two years’ experience as financial analyst in real estate industry; multi-family preferred
  • Bachelor/Masters Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Mathematics or Economics
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with ability to build financial models and analyze large data sets
  • Knowledge of real estate financial modeling
  • Familiarity with common research providers (CoStar, RCA, Axiometrics, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Enthusiastic self-starter willing to take initiative on projects and grow professionally
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours to accommodate demands of the position
  • Ability to travel as needed for the position
