Position: Senior Real Estate Financial Associate

The Senior Real Estate Financial Associate will lead a team of analysts in the market underwriting, vetting, diligence, and assessment of investment opportunities across several commercial asset platforms offered by ESJ. The position also affords direct participation in the deal structuring process, as well as the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other divisions of the company.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Directly participate in the support of the acquisition group in the underwriting and financial modeling of potential transactions

- Assist with all due diligence relating to new investments including the review of business plans, third-party reports, title/survey, historical financial statements, leases, vendor contracts, and market research.

- Support asset management of real estate investments, as needed

- Monitor and analysis of the financial performance of assets under management

- Updating or creating IRR calculations, investment models and proformas (Excel / Argus)

- Hold vs sell analysis

- Lease analysis

- Monitors and analyze specific commercial real estate market conditions, using the firm’s internal and external real estate, financial and economic databases

- Based on market analysis and assessment, contributes to the development of forward-looking and proprietary perspectives of each property’s anticipated performance in the portfolio

- Assists the team in applying market research to help guide the benchmark underwriting assumptions

- Builds and maintains working relationships to acquire market insights from internal and external sources, such as lenders, appraisers, brokers, and research professionals

- Create and maintain portfolio models as necessary
- Oversee the development of detailed Investment Committee memos and presentations
- Support the development of new business initiatives in commercial real estate for ESJ.

Desired Qualifications:

- Master’s in Business/Real Estate along with 5 years of experience in real estate

- Proficient in ARGUS Enterprise and Excel

- Strong work ethic and integrity; candidate should be a team player who is proactive and self-motivated
- Strong analytical, interpersonal communication, and writing skills
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously
- Relationship-building skills in the investment community and the ability to collaborate with the executive team.
