A fast-paced real estate firm is seeking a proactive and well-rounded Associate to support the Asset Management platform. The candidate will work directly with Partners and key team members assisting in business plan execution, including oversight of asset operations, financial performance, and capital projects. The preferred location for the position is Los Angeles, CA, but candidates in Washington, D.C. will also be considered. It is essential that this individual be hard-working, detail-oriented, passionate about her or his work, willing and eager to learn, and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities:

The Associate will support the team in actively managing a portfolio of primarily office and industrial assets to maximize investor returns.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with property managers, brokers, accountants, and tenants to develop strong relationships and ensure efficient operation of portfolio assets
• Oversee or directly manage projects to execute asset business plans
• Maintain models in Excel and Argus to track asset performance, project cash flows, and investor returns
• Evaluate and prepare lease, scenario, and project analyses to make and support strategy recommendations
• Prepare investment reports
• Field investor questions and information requests
• Review and facilitate preparation of budgets, CAM reconciliations, and distribution schedules
• Review property reports and financials monthly to ensure accuracy, track operating performance, operating budget variances, and significant trends
• Support management and execution of capital improvement plans
• Monitor and track compliance with loan documents, joint venture agreements, and other relevant agreements
• Assist and take part in the acquisition, refinance, and disposition processes, supporting due diligence efforts for investments as needed
• Travel to visit managed properties and markets periodically

Qualifications:

• Interest in an entrepreneurial and growing business environment
• Bachelor’s Degree with strong credentials plus 4+ years of work experience in commercial real estate, construction, engineering, or finance is preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills required
• Construction or project management experience is a plus
• Meticulous attention to detail, organized, and efficient
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects effectively and on deadline
• High energy individual with the ability to work without direct supervision
• The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
