Senior Analyst - Real Estate Investments

The Senior Analyst Role serves as a member of MetLife Investment Management’s (MIM’s) Real Estate Information & Analysis team. In this role, the Senior Analyst is tasked with providing consistent and accurate key portfolio metrics (AUM, performance metrics, etc.) and other marketing information to promote MIM strategies to external and internal clients.  The Senior Analyst is also tasked with providing information in support of presentations and marketing reports and communicating updates to internal clients.  The Senior Analyst will support development and enhancements of tools and processes for ensuring data timeliness, accessibility and accuracy across MIM’s real estate investment platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• This role involves coordination across various teams within MetLife Investment Management and requires general real estate knowledge as well as financial and communication skills.
• To provide data, and other analytic support to other teams in response to internal and external requests, including new product development, industry surveys and other custom requests. 
• Contribute to the creation of building performance benchmarks as well as market efforts to create a more meaningful benchmarks for debt portfolios.
• Oversee the production of timely monthly and quarterly assets under management reports for internal utilization.
• Participate in ad hoc work and projects as requested.
• Maintain and enhance the non-core real estate investment track record for development properties.
• Enhance the Operational footprint by providing high level support to all aspects of the Investment Management business.
• Aim for process improvement and innovation to achieve new efficiencies particularly with respect to data management.
• Understand capital and investment structure, including investment analysis principles such as IRR’s, Discounted Cash Flows, Cash on Cash Returns, Levered and Unlevered Returns.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in real estate investment industry preferable
• Candidate should have excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast-paced work environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel 

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, real estate or related fields preferable
