Description

LivCor, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a real estate asset management business specializing in multi-family housing. Formed in 2013 and headquartered in Chicago, LivCor is currently responsible for a portfolio of over 300 Class A and B properties comprising more than 100,000 units in markets across the United States.

Our business is focused on making real estate more valuable. But for us, it’s more than that. It’s people first, community always. It’s a life-filled career, not just a career-filled life. It’s doing good work, with good humans, and making a difference. It’s excellence in all its forms. Ultimately, we create great places to work, live, and grow. We do that by focusing on leaving people – and places – better than we found them.

Whew! Still with us? Cool. Let’s talk about where you’d fit in:

Are you sick of boring corporate design job descriptions? Is it soul destroying for you thinking, “I’m a creative person and I cannot think of anything worse than being trapped in a big machine – but I also want to do big, important, challenging work?” Well, have we got the job for you.

First, let’s get the context out of the way. Our business focused on making real estate more valuable.

Design and visual story telling is very important to us, and that’s where this role fits in. You would be a key member of our Marketing team, working on branding and design materials for our properties (aka, our communities) across the country. Let’s call that the bread and butter, but the work is no light snack. Each of these places have their own visual identities, so if you’re looking for a job where you get to constantly create, iterate, and execute new brands – this is it.

We also need so much more though. We need someone with a sharp eye and killer technical skills to produce a range of collateral in our existing LivCor branding. Some of this will be as expected, and some of it will be things like “Can we put an eyepatch on that dog?” This is LivCor. We don’t really do standard.

If you think this is somewhere you’d fit in, we’d love to have a conversation. Blow us away. Show us your best work. Do what good design should do – tell a story and make us feel something.

Read on for the standard stuff our colleagues recommend we put in a JD. We hope to hear from you!

What you will do:

  • Developing concepts and designs for collateral materials, including print (direct mail, ads, property signage, postcards, brochures, newsletters, flyers, invitations, coupons, etc.) and digital (MailChimp, Eventbrite, website, banner ads, social media posts, etc.), as needed.
  • Maintain brand identity and visual strategy by ensuring consistency across all designs.
  • Conceptualize and design corporate marketing collateral in support of the brand strategy.
  • Understand user interface and experience design pertaining to websites.
  • Responsible for all photo editing and resizing for print and digital.
  • Create brand guidelines marketing and corporate marketing.
  • Responsible for in-house production requests and campaign iterations, including but not limited to property-specific versioning of marketing materials, corporate presentation preparations; printing, binding, etc.
  • Managing and maintaining graphic files and archives, including logos, photos, sponsor materials, etc.
  • Proficiency with responsive web design and email campaign management through various online distribution services.

What you should have:

  • 2-3 years of graphic design and visual communications experience with a proven track record of creative problem solving.
  • Ability to conceptualize creative and original design ideas.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; both print and digital applications.
  • PowerPoint intermediate skills also required.
  • Creative data visualization/data storytelling experience a huge plus
  • Website and video development experience a plus.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize time to complete projects.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the print development and production process.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and capable of working independently.
  • High degree of integrity.
  • It would be especially great if you are also funny/a fun human being.
