ACQUISITIONS ANALYST / ASSOCIATE

 

Elion Partners has an opportunity for an Analyst/Associate to work with the acquisition team. The person will be responsible for all activities related to financial underwriting and will assist in the due diligence of new acquisitions. Direct experience in extensive modeling of real estate acquisitions and dispositions together with an understanding of the due diligence process will be key for successful candidates. The person will also assist the asset management team with property valuation, lease analysis, and investor reporting. This position will be based in Miami, FL and will report to the Director of Acquisitions.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

 

  •  Create pro-forma financial models for real estate transactions using Argus Enterprise and Excel.
  •  Assist in the preparation of analyses of potential new investments to ensure consistency with company investment risk and return objectives.
  • Manage financial due diligence for potential new acquisitions including lease review and abstracting, historical financial statement analysis and verification of all financial model inputs.
  • Perform in-depth market research to support and validate investment ideas under consideration.
  • Prepare investment committee memos for new investments for internal and external use.
  • Assist in the closing & financing of new acquisitions.
  • Create budget and reforecast models as necessary; meaningfully contribute to the budgeting process.
  • Assist in the valuation of Elion’s existing portfolio as well as providing asset management related analysis on an as needed basis.
  • Conduct various ad hoc analyses for existing investments such as sell-hold and new lease value impact analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of property and portfolio level investor reporting.
  • Communicate with project partners in an appropriately assertive but collaborative manner regarding satisfaction of obligations and meeting expectations.

 

Desired Skills and Experience: 


  • 2 - 4 years proven experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance or Commercial Real Estate modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Argus is required.
  • Outstanding financial, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks simultaneously, under strict deadlines, with minimal supervision.
  • Proven capital planning skills.
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced ability using Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis; experience with other Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
