About The Role

Our client is seeking to hire a senior investment professional to be based in Boston.

This individual will be responsible for leading acquisitions activities in the Boston region. The successful candidate will have strong real estate investment experience plus an analytical and entrepreneurial nature. In addition to leveraging a deep, local knowledge of the Boston region, this individual should also be able to generate and articulate investment themes and strategies to the broader team. Further, the successful candidate will also contribute to and support development projects in the region and other strategic markets. With the firm’s emphasis on collaboration, s/he must be able to build and foster productive relationships with external stakeholders and colleagues across the entire organization.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director and Regional Director for Boston.

• Generate, screen, and assess investment opportunities across commercial, residential, and other alternative real estate asset classes
• Lead investment activity from deal origination to transaction execution: source, underwrite, and structure investment opportunities in the Boston region
• In conjunction with the development team, help to coordinate various aspects of the development process for ongoing projects, from site assemblage and contract negotiations to project delivery
• Direct commercial, legal, and financial due diligence for investment opportunities; perform valuation, market, and risk analyses of commercial real estate assets as well as development site and feasibility analyses
• Optimize deal structures by negotiating term sheets and partnership structure options
• Collaborate with other team members in developing and implementing asset management strategies to maximize investment returns
• Develop and cultivate relationships with external parties (brokers, consultants, city authorities and other public entities) to maintain robust sourcing channels for acquisitions and development opportunities
• Foster productive working relationships with cross-functional teams across the broader organization
• Effectively manage and coach junior investment professionals
• Contribute to strategic investment initiatives nationally (e.g., supporting projects in markets outside of Boston or potential REIT acquisitions, etc.)

• 10-15+ years of real estate acquisitions experience with deep, relevant knowledge of the Boston market and the surrounding submarkets
