Financial Analyst – San Francisco, CA

Company Overview:

Position:

The primary responsibilities of the position will be to provide analytical, reporting, and quasi-asset management responsibilities.  This includes preliminary underwriting and valuation terms, preparing financial market data, analyzing a range of assumptions in financial models, preparing forecasts, maintaining financial controls & procedures, and producing a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual business plans, budgets & forecasts.  Responsible for interfacing with JV partners, senior management, lenders, investment brokers, and existing and new potential investors.

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Senior Vice President and head of Portfolio Management.  The person in this position will be located in San Francisco, CA.

Classification:

This is an Exempt position.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely completion of accurate valuation analysis & underwriting support of property acquisitions, development, and value add opportunities, including all supporting financial models, market statistics, and investment summaries.
  • Maintain strong market presence, attend networking and market functions.  Develop and expand existing external broker & other relationships to develop sources of market and economic data on the real estate fundamentals in the West Coast target markets.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor reports, quarterly cash reforecast reports, biannual business plans, and participate in the preparation of presentations of opportunities to existing and potential new investors.  Foster strong investor relationships.
  • Monitor and drive the execution of the business plans for the assets under management to ensure the strategy for the assets is executed timely.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced business degree a plus.  2+ years of relevant work experience in commercial real estate preferred.  The candidate must have quantitative and analytical skills, and excellent oral and written communication abilities.  Other essential capabilities include commitment to meet deadlines, integrity, work ethic & leadership qualities.

May supervise one or more team members and/or support staff
