Assistant Vice President/ Vice President - Loan Syndication and Portfolio Management

Our client is the Commercial Real Estate Finance group within the investment bank of a premier European-based global financial services institution.  Their real estate group is consistently ranked among the top-10 global and US real estate lenders, and they take an entrepreneurial approach to growing their platform and expanding into new products. 

Our relationship with our client dates back to 2012 and we provide a dedicated, integrated, on-site team within all facets of their group.  This role is to join our dedicated team sitting on-site, working seamlessly with our client.

We are looking for an Assistant Vice President or Vice President to join their Syndication Team, specifically focusing on structuring/pricing, distributing, and managing a multi-$billion+ portfolio of commercial real estate loans and acquisition facilities for private and public REITs, private equity and commercial real estate finance companies.

In this role, you will be working directly with premier institutional clients and partnering with them on the financing of a wide array of commercial real estate transactions across all major asset types.  You will be responsible for assisting the Head of Syndications with the structuring, negotiation  and distribution of commercial real estate balance sheet loans and acquisition facilities.  Given our client's unique culture and structure, candidates will be exposed to the full-breadth of commercial real estate finance activities and will contribute to opportunities at all stages of origination including preliminary review and analysis, mandate, loan closing and executing a syndication process.

Responsibilities

• Partner with public and private REITs, private equity firms and commercial real estate finance companies to finance the acquisition, refinancing or bridge lending secured by commercial real estate properties across all asset types.
• Support the Head of Syndication and Distribution by generating and maintaining internal reporting pertaining to market comparables, loan liquidity, pipeline, and profitability.  
• Contributing to discussions around loan structuring, underwriting analysis, and term sheet/legal document negotiation.
• Communicating  with key representatives of syndicate banks to support the marketing and funding of loan assignments; assisting with the coordination of lender closings; and managing lender communication throughout the life of the loan.
• Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials and pitch assignments.
• Assist with other projects as necessary, based on the needs of the Client.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
• 3-8 years’ experience in underwriting or asset managing commercial mortgage loans, with some balance sheet experience preferable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, willingness to work as part of a larger team
• Detail oriented Individual with strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong financial modeling / excel skills
• Strong presentation / power point skills
