The Role

The position is based in Dallas and will be responsible for direct oversight of all aspects of asset management for a broad portfolio of high-quality multifamily assets within the Central and Southeast regions. As a member of the multifamily asset management team, the Associate Director is tasked with driving out-performance for their assets under management, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to create new value, and developing and sharing standard methodologies. The role is intended to allow for talented and motivated individuals to work with limited oversight and ultimately serve as the multifamily expert in the region. The role will demonstrate existing industry relationships and represent INVESCO Real Estate in the market through interaction with both partners and peers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Investment strategy, value creation and out-performance through direct oversight of property operations, leasing and capital deployment
  • Measuring and monitoring asset performance against a variety of benchmarks including client objectives, proforma metrics, budget and market competitor analysis
  • Developing annual business plans through actively leading all aspects of property management, leasing, accounting, legal, appraisal, tax, research personnel as well as third-party consultants
  • Performing regular market visits and property inspections for assigned assets; travel required
  • Maintaining open and effective lines of communication with Portfolio Management regarding management of their investments including the physical, financial, and leasing performance
  • Collaborating with JV partners and service providers while best serving INVESCO’s interests
  • Actively engaging in the appraisal and internal valuation process to ensure accurate results
  • Acquisition due diligence in collaboration with acquisitions, underwriting and engineering
  • Reviewing documents pertaining to operating and marketing the assets, including management agreements, leasing agreements, service contracts, etc.
  • Assessing prospective commercial tenants’ businesses and credit worthiness and execute leases in mixed-use investments
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge regarding capital markets activity in the region
  • Reviewing and approving required client reports in final form
  • Developing and encouraging productive working relationships with property management companies, brokers and industry peers
  • Establishing credibility both internally and externally as Invesco’s regional multifamily asset management expert
  • Serving as an active giving member of the national multifamily team as well as the broader asset management team, sharing best practices and shaping platform initiatives

The experience you bring:

  • 7 or more years of hands-on commercial real estate experience
  • Real Estate area of specialty in one or more of the following: Asset Management, Acquisitions, Underwriting or Property Management
  • Strong passion to work with Institutional Quality Multifamily Investments along with validated experience
  • Broad understanding of the operational and investment fundamentals of institutional real estate
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • High proficiency with Excel and Word
  • Proficient working with Argus Enterprise
  • Solutions and results oriented
  • Creative and innovative
  • Intellectually curious
  • Formal Education: Undergraduate degree highly preferred, advanced degree highly desirable
  • FLSA (US Only): Exempt
