JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this role is to define and generate standard or custom reports. May include summarizing business, financial, performance or economic data for funds and/or portfolios. Works with minimal some supervision. Also provides performance results in accordance to GIPS® Standards. This includes updating and maintenance the performance database and confirm accuracy of performance return calculations using the GIPS® and NCREIF methodology, review monthly and quarterly financial statements, and complete consultant/client/industry questionnaires. Coordinates and processes bespoke client reporting. May assist in client presentations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Produces regular & ad-hoc client and internal reporting requirements. Manages the process of creating, collecting, reviewing and publishing reports for all funds and/or portfolios within the region.

Responsible for the accuracy of performance return calculations in Yardi and excel.

Recommends standards and guidelines, and coordinates that the assigned funds are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosures.

May participate in the responses of RFPs which includes investment, financial and performance information. Evaluates and suggests enhancements to automated procedures for financial reporting and compliance purposes.

Ensures reports are accurate and completed within the requested timeframe.

Investigates & resolves internal and external queries with regards to client accounts and provides guidance to staff regarding reports.

Communicates appropriately with the Head of Investment Reporting with respect to all timetables and workflow.

Maintains a working familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosures. Acts as first point of contact for auditors for existing and new policies.

Maintains awareness of regulatory changes effecting funds.

Assist in the review of work completed by junior level staff members with regard to internal policies, procedures and systems as required.

Performs special projects as directed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; a CPA or CFA may be preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5+ years relevant experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

CPA, CFA preferred, but not required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills, and ability to effectively interact with management, employees, regulators and external auditors. Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management. Ability to present information to an internal functional group.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Advanced skills in Microsoft suite applications. Advanced knowledge of computer applications related to real estate accounting, financial management or performance calculation systems.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to department.
