RCLCO Fund Advisors (RFA) guides large-scale investors, such as pension funds, in their real estate investment strategies and investments and assists in managing their large and complex real estate portfolios. RFA seeks a qualified Vice President to join its institutional consulting practice. Vice Presidents work to address the important and unique issues regarding real estate investing faced by institutional investors such as state pension plans, including:

  • Developing investment strategies that maximize value throughout the cycle through the development and implementation of investment ideas, pacing plans, policies, and risk management systems.
  • Providing high quality and forward-looking investment analyses, including review of assets, separate accounts, and funds and programmatic joint ventures that will provide superior risk- adjusted investment returns.
  • Strategically guiding clients on their investment decisions and analyses through discussion, presentations, articles, and custom deliverables.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Act as project leader/manager for analyses that lead to manager and investment recommendations to clients, including through:
    • Working with senior team members to review and select potential fund managers and/or operating partners by analyzing their track records, strategies, pipelines, financial and operating structures, and by assisting in manager interviews;
    • Performing market research to quantify and analyze macroeconomic trends impacting the real estate sector;
    • Researching and developing informed perspectives on industry trends and participants, and translating these into potential investment theses and strategies.
  • Communicate, through both written memoranda and presentations, key findings and recommendations to both our clients;
  • Provide analytical support for client real estate investment strategy development and portfolio planning/construction;
  • Maintain and grow working relationships with clients; and
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant experience in management or investment consulting and/or finance positions;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, real estate, finance, business, or related fields;
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills in financial modeling and analysis, as well as knowledge of portfolio strategy, risk analysis, performance review, and investment theory;
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, excellent interpersonal skills, and a drive to succeed in his/her chosen profession;
  • Passion for financial and economic analysis, ability to structure quantitative and qualitative problem-solving approaches, and attention to detail and accuracy; and
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, a self-starter, a good time manager, and “team player.”
Candidates will be assessed on their real estate fundamentals and excel modeling skills during the interview process.

Estimated base salary range, not including bonus: $130K-160K
