Description
Our Healthcare Real Estate Team is currently looking for an experienced Vice President of Asset Management to join the firm. This position will be located in Los Angeles; some travel will be required. Reporting to the Managing Director of Healthcare, this position has the following key responsibilities:
- Manage the portfolio of properties in accordance with governing documents and approved business plans, with focus on maximizing value and identifying/mitigating downside risk;
- Monitor and evaluate financial operating results to enhance cash flow and profitability by completing monthly financial reviews and reviewing property data.
- Interact with partners, lenders, property managers, legal counsel, general contractors, consultants, marketing/design firms, and other consultants;
- Create and/or maintain various financial models including pro forma cash flow models, IRR analyses, waterfall splits, and external and internal reporting schedules;
- Analyze financial models and multiple business plans to assess the impact of potential project decisions, including hold/sell analyses, major transactions and capital markets activities;
- Compare and analyze project business plans, monthly project financial statements, operating income and expenses, and actual economic results against pro forma budgets/projections and recommend changes to asset strategies or approved business plans as warranted;
- Communicate regularly with the investment and underwriting teams as well as the accounting and reporting teams;
- Manage and navigate all lender relationships and loan agreements with regular compliance verification and ability to forecast future concerns;
- Conduct market research, analysis of market conditions, and property site visits;
- Prepare quarterly project cash flows and reports and annual property budgets as required, and communicate asset performance to management on a regular basis;
- Assist Stockdale’s origination teams in underwriting new originations as needed;
- Understanding of what is happening on a micro and macro level in the markets in which your assets are located
- Managing and reporting the quarterly obligations for lenders, partners and internal guidelines
Candidates for this position should have the following experience/skills:
- 10+ years experience in the commercial real estate sector with an emphasis on office and/or medical office; asset management, underwriting, finance, or development experience desirable;
- Four-year undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or real estate;
- A strong understanding of financial modeling including cash flows, real estate valuation techniques, IRR calculations, and partnership waterfalls;
- A thorough understanding of investment underwriting, property management, real estate documents and transactions, asset sales, contract negotiations, real estate finance, and joint venture partnerships. Office or Medical Office experience is a strong plus, but not a requirement;
- Very strong skills in Microsoft Excel, and proficiency in other basic computer skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
- We offer a competitive salary and benefit package.
- Expected Salary: $150,000 - $175,000/year DOE
