About the role

This position provides operation, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and documentation of Wastewater Pre-Treatment systems and Domestic Water Systems, equipment, and components. These include but are not limited to minor heating and ventilation equipment; air compressors; pumps; piping; plumbing; lighting; limited electrical to 480 volt 3 phase including control systems; hydraulic; pneumatic; chemical feeding; flow measuring; wastewater and stormwater collection and conveyance; wastewater treatment system; potable water generation, storage, and conveyance to the client building wall; fire protection water generation, storage, conveyance, and control to the client building wall; underground facility location; safety equipment related to confined space entry; general safety procedures; general regulatory requirements related to wastewater, stormwater and potable water and other facets of the department operation; operation of product IV bag shredding and solution disposal system. Water testing in the laboratory and with field instruments.
• It is customary and expected that service might need to be provided in an emergency.
• Overtime is required. This position requires that the individual provide off-hours contact information as call-ins may occur.
• Extensive training to become familiar with job tasks and systems will be ongoing.
• Initial training will take about six months.
• Completion of complete orientation and training will take about one year.

Potential Risk: Acknowledging the potential risks associated with occupational exposure to antibiotics is essential. Individuals allergic to antibiotics or have adverse reactions to these medications should consider the potential hazards before pursuing employment in this role.

What you'll do
• To provide equipment and system troubleshooting and repair
• To evaluate equipment and systems for accurate operating characteristics and capacities.
• To document changes, additions, or deletions to equipment or systems through an engineering interface or other support group
• To represent the department as a contact on specific projects or project-specific client interactions
• To repair equipment components
• To complete scheduled routine maintenance
• To consider current applicable codes and regulations in new installations and repairs to existing facilities
• To operate the Wastewater Treatment System, conduct required laboratory testing, and complete required documentation.
• To operate the Domestic Water System, conduct required laboratory testing, and complete required documentation.
• Destruction of product using plastic bag shredder and proprietary drug destruction unit.
• Operate a forklift and other Powered Industrial Trucks.
• To operate specialized facility equipment and task-specific machinery.

What you'll need
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• High school education diploma or equivalent
• Two years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training.
• Prior experience operating boiler room equipment and performing boiler room water testing a solid plus.
• Strong safety orientation
• Ability to tolerate depth and height and work effectively in such positions
• Ability to tolerate strong and potentially unpleasant odors
• Ability to negotiate aids to climbing and descending
• Ability to lift and carry loads to and including 50 pounds on level ground
• Agility sufficient to negotiate close workspaces and routine winter conditions without injury
• Ability to interpret blueprints and other drawings related to the job
• Ability to generate draft plans for installations not to the scope of complete systems
• Ability to interface successfully with engineering or other support groups to change existing documentation to match a new or changed existing condition
• Ability to read, interpret and act upon written maintenance procedures including manufacturer-supplied operation and maintenance materials
• Ability to collect, organize and assimilate information from various sources and prepare useful operational documentation, such as preventive maintenance instructions or specific procedure guidelines
