Vice President, Development

The Position:

The Vice President, Development oversees all aspects of the development process. Working in close collaboration with senior management, the Vice President’s role is to ensure that project milestones, budgets and quality standards are met. This position negotiates with and directs the work of architects, engineering consultants and other design vendors, as well as the leasing and marketing teams. The Vice President, Development oversees and coordinates the preparation of government agencies program applications, such as HPD, DOB, DOT, City Planning, etc. This position develops, standardizes, and refines project contract documents, and all other pertinent documentation. Along with providing continuous assessment of vendor and consultant performance, this position monitors all releases of funds to consultants, contractors and vendors. The Vice President, Development coordinates monthly budget and variance analysis updates and reviews financial performance with Senior Management. This position would also handle other duties as assigned.

The Requirements:

Advanced degree Business/Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering or Public Policy preferred

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in real estate development, project management or related activities in the development industry

 

Significant experience in the execution of residential and commercial development projects in the New York City market.

 

Expertise managing similar projects in size and scope as well as significant transaction experience.

 

Successful record of accomplishment of managing multi-disciplinary project teams in the areas of architecture/design; construction/engineering; zoning/real estate law; leasing/marketing; management/operations and finance/accounting and budget management.

 

Familiarity with city agencies and other land use review processes, including but not limited to ULURP, Landmarks, City Planning and others.

 

Experience with project financing.

 

Ability to review and understand architectural drawings.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
