Lease Supervisor (Admin Planning Director State)
Salary Range: $69,635 - $100,078/annually
In this position you will lead the leasing, land and space management units of the Real Estate and Construction Division at the Department of Administration. These areas employ professional and technical staff who assist State Agencies in meeting their real estate needs including by: 1) negotiating and processing lease documents for both state owned and non-state owned property; 2) providing space project management and space needs analysis for state agency space in leased buildings; and, 3) negotiating and preparing acquisition, disposition, easement and other real estate transaction documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years supervisory or lead work experience demonstrating the ability to make hiring decisions, team build, manage employee performance and implement performance standards AND Three (3) years of advanced professional experience in the real estate field demonstrating:
- Experience working in commercial leasing locating space and preparing lease agreements
- Experience in lease administration
- Thorough knowledge of accepted principles and practices of leasing real property
- Ability to select and write appropriate comprehensive leases and critique staff leases
- Advanced negotiation skills sufficient to mediate terms and conditions of lease agreements
- Working knowledge of space planning and reviewing floor plans
- Excellent writing and analytical skills sufficient to compose reports, leases, letters and memos
- Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for change
- Strong communications skills to work effectively with agency customers, the public, and vendors delivering technical information in a user-friendly manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in management, business administration, or real estate
- Experience supervising in a unionized environment and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
- Public sector experience
- Knowledge of the Legislative process
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodology
