Description
Prosper Portland, the City of Portland’s economic development agency, seeks a proven leader in community and real estate development with the skills and experience to manage a team, projects and programs that support healthy and complete neighborhoods and economic vitality in Portland’s communities.
The Development Manager will lead a team of professional project managers, program managers, community relationships managers, and administrative staff whose work delivers on community-defined priorities including large-scale commercial development projects, district and commercial corridor real estate strategies, public private partnerships, and public benefit agreements. You will provide strategic guidance and mentorship to your team and empower staff to manage various complex and high-profile community and real estate development initiatives.
You and the team will work closely with Prosper Portland’s Economic Development and Social Equity, Policy and Communication Departments to support business growth, equity outcomes, and community capacity as well as with the Asset and Investment Team to shape and execute real estate transactions. You will be a thought leader who collaborates with all levels of the organization, demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, in a way that embraces Prosper Portland's cultural values of learning, innovation, putting people first, inclusion and excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a breadth of experience in real estate, community development and/or urban development planning, with a demonstrated base of knowledge in development principles, best practices and procedures. You’ll have the opportunity to partner closely with private sector development partners and businesses, peer public sector planning and infrastructure agencies, and community leaders to implement initiatives that support wealth creation and shared prosperity. Your work and professional commitment will be centered around community driven development and social and racial equity-based outcomes.
Salary Range: $108,568 - $157,429
