Slate Property Group, a New York City-based Owner and Developer of residential and mixed-use real estate, is seeking a Vice President of Asset Management who will be involved with the asset management, financing, and disposition activities around a portfolio of multifamily assets in New York City.  In addition, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and tracking real estate investments, preparing investor reports, and working along the CFO on finance related audits. The role will be charged with increasing revenue, improving efficiency, and scaling operational excellence. Additional responsibilities include developing budgets and answering operational and financial questions from internal departments.

Responsibilities:

 

Asset Management

  • Perform quarterly valuations and reviews of each asset’s business plan. Prepare hold/finance/sell recommendations and oversee the financing and disposition process as necessary
  • Compare historical and current financials to identify variances with budget and underwriting.  Monitor specific performance measures to identify risks, trends and opportunities. 
  • Conduct on-site property visits to evaluate asset physical condition, property and management performance. Maximize value by evaluating and implementing leasing, capital improvement, and rehabilitation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with loan maturities, covenants, DSCR and LTV ratios, and debt yields

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant real estate experience at top investment bank, New York City based Real Estate Development Company, Big-4 Accounting Firm, or Real Estate Focused Lending Institution. Must possess capital markets experience and knowledge of debt and equity investments.
  • Expert knowledge of New York City with regards to location of streets, neighborhood profiles, and each market’s rental and for-sale residential housing prices. In addition, for all neighborhoods in New York City an in depth knowledge of schools, transportation locations, and market opportunities related to real estate, etc.
  • High level knowledge of New York City building code and zoning laws as they relate to ground up construction and the renovation of existing buildings in New York City.
  • Strong personal network of commercial real estate brokers and New York City deal makers in New York City real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in the property management of New York City multifamily real estate
  • Top-tier education (degree from a Top 30 ranked undergraduate institution) and strong GPA
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully manage internal and external relationships
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, take on additional responsibility, and have strong attention to detail
  • Some real estate development and construction experience required

 

Compensation:

  • Salary with a bonus that will be commensurate with performance.
