Description

Mercy Housing, Inc. has retained WittKieffer to assist in the recruitment efforts for a President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  After many years of outstanding service to Mercy Housing, Jane Graf has announced her retirement.

Mercy Housing's mission is to create stable, vibrant, and healthy communities by developing, financing, and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors, and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities. Headquartered in Denver, Mercy was founded by the Catholic women religious in 1981 and is the largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing in the United States with just over $3 billion in assets. Mercy Housing currently owns 341 properties, provides over 24,000 homes and serves over 42,000 residences. As it approaches its 38th year Mercy Housing has participated in the development, preservation and/or financing of more than 58,000 homes.

While Mercy Housing has achieved much success in its 38 years, the new CEO will have the opportunity to make a substantial and immediate impact on strategies related to partnerships, philanthropy and resident services that establish engaged, strong, and inclusive communities.  The Mercy Housing CEO is a highly visible position nationally and has a platform to significantly influence the direction of public policy that advances affordable housing.

Mercy Housing is interested in entertaining a broad range of candidate profiles, especially those that bring noteworthy executive experience within the affordable housing industry, real estate development/management, and/or urban planning. The successful candidate will be an executive with a track record of significant accomplishments in creating an organizational culture of collaboration/partnerships, innovation, and strategic growth. The CEO will embrace servant leadership and will have an authentic passion for the mission and vision of Mercy Housing, while being highly visible both internally and externally.

All discussions about this search will be handled in strict confidence.  On behalf of Mercy Housing, thank you for your interest in this very important search.
