The Professionals’ Choice for Real Estate Jobs

Hillary

About a year ago, I congratulated Gail Ayers, CEO of our partner Professional Association, CREW Network, on the number of women who were retained and moved up in real estate companies during the Financial Crisis. She responded, “But not moving into the C-Suite.” Never underestimate a woman on a mission. I just read Editor Sule Aygoren’s, coverage for GlobeSt.com of CREW Network’s Annual Convention where Hillary Rodham Clinton, Keynote Speaker, urged women, “Dare to compete. U.S. policies – or lack thereof – make it very difficult for women to succeed in today’s business world. Women, Clinton pointed out, are still woefully underrepresented in the C-Suite of most Fortune 500 level companies.” As Andrea S. Glickman, of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently reported, “Women are more involved in the service aspects of commercial real estate and asset and property management, but they’re still not the deal decision-makers. What is lacking are women in risk-taking and deal-making roles.” Clinton summed up, “It’s important for women like us to model that risk taking, get out of our own comfort zones. Be willing to fail.” After reading today’s headlines, I hope Hillary takes the BIG risk.
