Program Highlights

MBA Program:

Real Estate at the Haas School of Business is an area of concentration within the MBA Program. Students in the Real Estate Program may take coursework in topics such as development, finance, law, and planning, and may participate in activities sponsored by the Berkeley Real Estate Club, the Accelerating Careers in Real Estate (ACRE), the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, and local industry organizations.

The program prepares its graduates for a broad range of career paths in a variety of industry segments, including development, private equity, investment banking, government housing agencies, lending and portfolio or asset management, and across many different product types, including residential, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality.

Undergraduate Program:

The Real Estate Program provides a popular set of courses in the Undergraduate Program. Students learn to apply analytical tools from finance and economics to a large and dynamic market as well as test their skills through applied field work in student initiated class projects.

PhD Program:

The doctoral program in Real Estate offers students with strong backgrounds in finance and economics the opportunity to focus their studies and their research activities on a broad range of topics in real estate, capital markets, housing and urban economics. The purpose of the program is to train individuals for academic positions in real estate and finance and technical research positions in industry.

Real Estate Certificate:

The Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Real Estate (IGCRE) provides an academic structure for interdisciplinary training in real estate, including real estate investment, real estate law, and the role of real estate development in the built environment. The IGCRE offers graduate students in the College of Environmental Design, the Haas School of Business, and Berkeley Law the opportunity to supplement their major areas of study with courses that specifically focus on real estate.
