STAFF/SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

LOCATION: Coconut Grove, Florida

DEPARTMENT: Finance/Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY:
3650 REIT is a leading national commercial real estate lending, investment and services firm focused on long term relationships with strong sponsors and intermediaries. This position supports the Company in carrying out the day to day responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department, including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, researching differences and assisting with the preparation of the various funds' financial statements.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Perform review of invoices payable to ensure proper account & entity coding prior to approval and issuing checks.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations for each fund / entity.

• Maintains journals and ledgers for each fund / entity - ensure the accuracy of all general ledger information.
• Assist with the loan accounting functions on construction loans - interpreting loan agreements & servicing documents, billing, and collections.
• Maintain the Company's Fixed Asset schedule and related accounting.
• Prepare monthly GL account reconciliations and research differences.
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations, including researching differences.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting by creating and/or maintaining pertinent schedules and aide in the closing and reporting process.
• General ledger analysis and research various accounting issues.
• Special accounting projects as necessary.
• Facilitate audit fieldwork assistance for external and internal auditors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has minimal supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, subordinates and external parties.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• A bachelor’s degree is required, preferred emphasis in accounting or finance. MBA or Masters degree in related field is recommended.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a REIT, financial institution, or other commercial real estate investment firm or equity fund. Similar audit experience is acceptable.
• Real estate investment or commercial loan accounting or servicing experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
