POSITION:
FHA/HUD Multi-Family Loan Underwriters - Remote - Part-time and Full-time
REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years' experience in multi-family mortgage underwriting, processing, or loan closing.
Experience with HUD loans a plus (any side of transaction).
Exposure to 223(f) and/or 223(a)(7) HUD program loans a plus (Please highlight this on your resume if applicable).
Knowledge of real estate terminology and concepts.
Excellent analytical skills and technical writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with Catalyst a plus but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to: Review, analyze, or conduct due diligence for multifamily residential properties.
Including the review of: Facility appraisals, Physical condition reports, Credit histories and determining creditworthiness of borrowers, operators, and/or management agents, Financial statements of properties and participants, Quality of care issues/professional liability insurance.
Review new and renewal loan applications to facilitate and ensure their compliance with HUD's lending guidance.
Underwrite complex transactions with complicated borrower structures and unique property or market characteristics.
Monitor a loan pipeline and promptly turn around new loans and resubmittals.
Communicate analysis in oral and written formats for both technical and non-technical audiences to respond to immediate, short-term, and long-term client and colleague requests.
Strong partnership skills to work effectively with internal and external teams (interaction and communication directly with HUD, Lenders, Underwriters, Closers, etc.).
