About the role

As a Loan Servicing Consultant, you will interact within clients, borrowers, sponsors (owners), contractors, attorneys, title companies, architects, brokers property managers, appraisers, and other deal related parties.

This job is part of the Loan Servicing function. They are responsible for the administrative aspects of a loan from the disbursement of funds to the final payment.

What you'll do
  • Handle servicing of portfolios of commercial mortgage loans using fundamental concepts, practices and procedures associated with commercial real estate finance.
  • Supervise the performance of an assigned low volume commercial mortgage loan portfolio.
  • Act as the primary contact and intermediary between lenders, master servicers, producers and borrowers; provide customer service to lenders and borrowers.
  • Lead and mentor analyst to ensure that procedures are being followed.
  • Review and interpret loan documents and monitor compliance with loan servicing agreements.
  • Review and prepare recommendations for lender consent items such as easements, leases, loan assumptions and many other real estate related issues.
  • Take part in conference calls with lenders, special servicers or master servicers, updating them on loan issues and other specific investor requests.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish sophisticated assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and share your experience with your team.
  • Tackle problems and provide a fresh opinion on existing solutions.
  • Impact range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or critical information and work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.


What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of proven experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Interpersonal skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
