The Dermot Company, a New York and Florida-based real estate developer and operator, is seeking a Leasing & Marketing Director. Reporting to the Vice President of Leasing & Marketing, this position will be responsible for developing leasing and marketing strategies and leading a team of leasing professionals for an assigned portfolio in NYC. 

This is a full-time position with a requirement to work weekends when needed.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Director of Leasing & Marketing will…

  • Develop and implement leasing and marketing strategies for multiple residential, luxury properties in NYC

  • Manage, train and mentor a team of leasing professionals

  • Prepare pricing and concession strategies for vacancy and renewal leases, in accordance with business plan, budget and current market conditions, for approval by VP, Leasing & Marketing

  • Develop marketing concepts and material, including listings & social media marketing, in cooperation with internal Marketing and third party vendors

  • Have budget responsibility for residential rental income and marketing expenses for properties in the portfolio

  • Lead negotiations with prospects and residents during the renewal process

  • Lead training and development of team members

  • Oversee the CRM and ensure tasks are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner

  • Review applications to ensure they meet qualification requirements

  • Review/prepare vacancy leases for Lease Administration & Compliance Team’s final review 

  • Prepare and/or review daily/weekly/monthly leasing reports

  • Lead communication and reporting for leasing related matters to ownership and management

  • Assist corporate analysts with data gathering and analysis

  • Review and suggest improvements to current internal processes and prospect journey, including tour path and communication touchpoints

  • Collaborate effectively with Property Management teams on building-specific needs and cultivate a team-oriented environment

  • Tour apartments with prospects as needed

  • Ensure adherence to Dermot policies and procedures

ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER

  • A minimum of 7 years of direct professional experience in Leasing & Marketing of residential, luxury apartments

  • Successful track record of managing leasing for multiple properties 

  • A minimum of 2 years of effectively leading and mentoring a team of leasing professionals; must have a genuine interest in developing others and sharing knowledge

  • Keen understanding of NYC residential market, trends and rent stabilization

  • Valid NY Real Estate License required

  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with Yardi and/or other property management software

  • Exceptional communication (verbal & written), attention to detail, collaboration, and organization skills

  • Deadline-driven and comfortable working with competing priorities

  • Possess the ability to think strategically and tactically, have an analytical mindset and be solutions oriented

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

  • Ability to work one weekend day when needed.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without restrictions whatsoever.

The annualized gross compensation range for this position is $115,000-125,000 plus commissions and discretionary bonus eligibility. The actual compensation within the range will be based on factors unique to each candidate including education, years and depth of experience.
